The Animal 'Unicorn' Was Mentioned By Moses, David, Isaiah & God! Animals of the Bible: Unicorn 3-2-17, There are people who claim the Holy Bible is a book of fairy tales because it mentions the animal 'unicorn.' Yes, unicorns are mentioned in the King James version of the Bible nine times, in five different books by Balaam, Moses, David, Isaiah and even God Himself in the book of Job. Perhaps the scoffers trouble with the Bible’s unicorn lies in the fact they forget that single-horned animals are not uncommon on God’s animal design. He also created:  Possibilities for the unicorn’s identity: Eighteenth century reports from southern Africa described rock drawings and eyewitness accounts of fierce, single-horned, equine-like animals. One such report describes “a single horn, directly in front, about as long as one’s arm, and at the base about as thick. . . . [It] had a sharp point; it was not attached to the bone of the forehead, but fixed only in the skin.”  The extinct giant rhinoceros like beast aka 'elasmotherium;' it had a 33-inch-long skull has a huge bony protuberance on the frontal bone consistent with the support structure for a massive horn. One Horned Goat The one horned goat like the one depicted on the 1447 coin at the Washington D.C., National Gallery of Art   Taking God's word in context we can discern if it's figurative or literal. The biblical unicorn was a real animal, not an imaginary creature. To deny the existence of this animal is to demean the veracity of God's inerrant Word. The text mentioning the animal 'unicorn' wasn't figurative. The absence of a unicorn in the modern world should not cause us to doubt its past existence; dodo birds come to mind.
