9-15-17, Nina Keegan [Excerpted*] -- Excuses in our lives give us permission to settle for less than God's best. It seems we always have an excuse for our shortcomings. Too often we have something or someone else to blame for our less-than-stellar behaviors and accomplishments. It's never our fault. Most failures come from a history of alibis and a lack of perseverance. Closed doors don't always mean NO perhaps we must just 'wait.' Meaning that God has a bigger and better 'door' and we must move forward and keep knocking. [Matthew 7:7]
The Bible has many examples of excuse-makers, starting off with Eve in the 'Garden of Eden;' the Lord God said to the woman, "What is this that you have done?" Eve answered, "The serpent deceived me and I ate." Genesis 3:13
We must not be like Eve; we can receive the victory God has in store for us. The grace of God will supply all we need; we must trust and obey the Word of God and His plan for our lives.
Therefore, we'll have no need for rationalizing any lack of victory as we trust God allowing our confidence to increase and we will have victory.
