Southern Security Wall: Fisher Can Do It!

Tommy Fisher of "Fisher Sand and Gravel said: "The government is overpaying ... for $4.31 billion, we can build the wall with paved roads and border technology plus warranty." 

 3-5-19, WashingtonExaminer -- Fisher Sand & Gravel's CEO Tommy Fisher has offered to build 234 miles of the southern security border wall for just $1.4 billion, a fraction of the $8 billion the Trump administration is hoping to use for that project. Mr Fisher said the government is overpaying and that for $4.31 billion, he can build the wall and incorporate paved roads and border technology plus warranty. "Our whole point is to break through the government bureaucracy. If they do the small procurements as they are now … that’s not going to cut it." 

Fisher said that the roughly $1.4 billion is enough to build 20 miles of levee wall in the Rio Grande Valley, plus another 214 miles. That pot of money, however, can only be used in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the bill Congress passed approving those funds and was only expected to be used for about 55 miles of steel slat fencing. [..snip] DHS officials and several lawmakers are expected to visit the site of his border wall construction site in Arizona next week. 1-5-19, Newsmax -- CEO of Fisher Ind., Tommy Fisher said that his company's proposal for the actual wall is about $6 billion under the estimated Trump administration cost of about $18 billion. He said, "We sent a proposal exactly for 700 miles of wall, guaranteed to be built in six years, with a two-year warranty after that for $10.77 billion. That would conclude the wall all the way through the mountains — no exceptions — through the whole state of California, Arizona and New Mexico. We then offer, basically, a 12-year additional warranty on workmanship for another billion, to take it to $12.21 billion. Right now, they've accounted $18 billion. We sort of beat the budget by $6 billion with our patented process."
