Starbucks Employees Pricked With Discarded Hypodermic Needles Needing Medical Care Protection Against HIV & Hepatitis
1-9-19, Front Page -- Starbucks workers report finding blood and needles in bathrooms, as well as being pricked by improperly disposed-of needles, risking exposure to HIV and hepatitis. Since the 'open bathroom policy' has been in place, the coffee giant is exploring possible remedies after employees expressed fears about being pricked by uncapped discarded used needles and experiencing related health risks. Starbucks is testing solutions including installing sharps-disposal boxes, utilizing heavier-duty trash bags to prevent needle pokes and removing trash cans from certain bathrooms. More here

Oct 2, 2018 - After three Starbucks employees were poked by needles while on the job in Seattle they told local news that hypodermic needles were found on the job nearly every day.
