Texas Hurricane Harvey flesh-eating bacteria leaves Texas man fighting for life
9-8-17, Volunteer rescuers warned to protect themselves against similar infections by wearing gloves, masks, boots and goggles if they’re in contact with the floodwater. J.R. Atkins of Missouri City, Texas was touring his neighborhood in his kayak, checking on evacuees’ houses, when he noticed what appeared to be a small insect bite on his arm. He said: “I was also able to check on neighbors houses who evacuated to put their mind at ease. Now I sit in a hospital bed waiting and hoping to be discharged 7 days later… I nearly died a week ago.“ more here

Tropical Storm 'Harvey' spawns tornadoes across Houston
Tornadoes spawned by Hurricane Harvey damaged more than 50 homes in Fort Bend County Texas. Also struck a commercial compound near Katy and tore through Cypress, while parts of the Houston region evacuated ahead of record river floods and braced for torrential rains overnight into Sunday, 8-27-17. Flash Flood Emergency: In one hour 3 to 4 inches have fallen over Harris/Fort Bend/Brazoria region.

Aug 25, 2017 · Hurricane Harvey has sustained winds of up to 129 miles and hour. It is set to be the first substantial hurricane to hit Texas since Hurricane 'Ike' in 2008 and may be the first to make landfall in about 47 years. Category 4 storms have sustained winds ranging from 131 to 155 mph and can cause catastrophic property damage.
