8-18-22, After King Saul disobeyed the Lord's commands, the Prophet Samuel told him: "I will not return with thee...." 'For thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel."
He let Saul know that his pretended confession and repentance had made no alteration in the decree and sentence of God respecting the kingdom. He wasn't satisfied with Saul's repentance and confession as he tried to lay the blame on the people. This he said by way of resentment and expressed his indignation at him, although afterwards he changed his mind returning with him; which a good man may be allowed to do without any imputation of falsehood or a lie. 8-17-22, The Prophet Samuel told the wicked people: "...if ye shall still do wickedly; continue to rebel against God, revolt from Him departing from worshiping Him while despising His prophets serving idols: ye shall be consumed." [1 Samuel 12:25]
Who will deny that the USA has and is doing wickedly while blaspheming and scorning the Lord God almighty? Is God in the process of 'consuming' America? Clearly it's long over due. Why do we think that, although God punished the past wicked idol worshipers; He won't punish the future wicked? Yes, the Lord Jesus came to save those who repent and trust Him as Savior [John 3:3, 7, 14:6] - but the scorners are not. More from Matthew Henry here: https://biblehub.com/commentaries/mhc/1_samuel/12.htm 8-16-22, Anti-God Philistines absconded with the ARK OF GOD ... they foolishly thought they could get away with it. They placed it next to THEIR god statue Dagon - a fish. They discovered their idol fell over - they set it back up - and the next day it fell over again and on it's face with it's head and hands broken off. Which showed that the first fall wasn't by chance, but by the power of God, before Whom it could not stand. The head is the seat of wisdom; the hands the instruments of action; both are cut off, to show that it had neither wisdom nor strength. The Philistines, instead of being convinced that Dagon was no god, they even honored the threshold floor it fell on!
1 Samuel 5:3-4; Isaiah 40:20; Ezekiel 6:4; Micah 1:7 -- Benson Commentary, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/benson/1_samuel/5.htm Six Barren Women Recorded in Scripture8-15-22, There are six women recorded in the Bible who were 'barren;' they desperately wanted children. In Genesis, three of the four matriarchs are Sarah, Rebekah and Rachel. Hannah, the anonymous wife of Manoah and the “great woman of Shunem:" 1. Sarai pleads with husband, Abram and ultimately she had Isaac whose descendants inherited the land of Israel (Genesis 17:15-27)
2. Rebekah’s husband, Isaac prayed for Rebekah to have baby; she had twins, Jacob and Esau (Genesis 25:21)who were the patriarchs of the Jews and Muslims. 3. Rachel pleads with Jacob, “Give me children or else I die” she had Joseph and Benjamin (Genesis 30:1) 4. Wife of Manoah, had Samson (Judges 13:4-5) 5. Hannah pleaded with God for a son – she had the Prophet Samuel (1 Samuel 1:16) 6. Shunammite was a devoted woman of God. Elisha promised her a child. (2 Kings. 4:13, 16). In the psalms of praise, God is the source of fertility and conception – children are a wonderful gift from God. Genesis 1:28; 3 John 1:4; Proverbs 17:6; Psalm 113:9, 127:3-5; 1 Samuel 2:5 More here: https://bible.org/seriespage/9-shunammite-woman-receives-son-2-kings-48-17 https://jwa.org/encyclopedia/article/barren-women-in-the-bible 8-14-22, The Gospel of Matthew traces the ancestry of the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ back to the patriarch Abraham plus 41 other men including Jacob, Judah, David and Solomon. Somewhat unusual - the list includes four women that have spotty reputations: a prostitute, a woman who pretended to be a prostitute, a sexually forward widow and a woman taken in adultery. With the fifth woman, Mary, the mother of the Lord:
1. TAMAR - Genesis 38:11 2. RAHAB - Joshua 2:3 3. WIFE OF URIAH, BATHSHEBA - 2 Samuel 11:26 4. RUTH - Ruth 4:13 5. MARY - Matthew 1:16 8-12-22, When the Lord & King Jesus returns all the world will see Him. Revelation 1:7; Daniel 12: 1-13 He shall come visibly as recorded in Acts 1:11, He shall come as He was seen after His resurrection going up to heaven. Also Isaiah 40:5 And they also which pierced Him Zechariah 12:10. Every sinner pierced Him with their sins, Hebrews 6:6.
Jesus said: 'Marvel not that I said you must be born again!' John 3:3, 7 More here: Matthew Poole's Commentary, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/poole/revelation/1.htm 8-12-22, The Lord God almighty repeatedly shows that obedience is required of His people. God commanded that they hearken diligently to His voice. Let God's will be your rule and His favor shall be your happiness. God is displeased with disobedience. If today we think that the sacrifice of Christ lessens our obligation to obey God; we are sadly mistaken.
The Lord Jesus said, 'if you love Me, obey My commands.' Jeremiah 7:21-26; John 14:15 8-11-22, The Lord Jesus Christ declared His authority and character as the Savior; Messiah speaking of the resurrection. The time will come when the dead should hear His voice, as the Son of God and live again. The Lord first refers to His raising those who were once dead in sin, but born again John 3:3, 7 to newness of life by the power of God's Spirit and then to His raising the dead from their earthly graves. May we believe His testimony; thus our faith and hope will be in God and we shall not come into condemnation. We earnestly pray that His voice will reach the hearts of those dead in sin; that they will repent, turn to God preparing for that solemn & glorious day. John 5:25; 1 Corinthians 15:13

One 13 minute video ceremony of many on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QfWUHzohVU Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 8-7-22, In the Bible’s Old Testament we read about the one woman Judge in Israel, Deborah. Some scholars suggest that her position as judge was itself an indictment against the weak willed men of Israel; God chose a woman. And even when one Hebrew warrior, Barak was called to go into battle - he balked refusing unless Deborah went with him. Ultimately, another woman, Jael, won the day when the Canaanite General Sisera fled to her tent taking a nap giving her opportunity to drive a stake in his brain! We can see that God’s power is what matters, regardless of the instrument He chooses to use. Strong or weak, confident or fearful; all are strong when they are moved by God’s Spirit and filled with His strength. Judges 3:30 4:4-9, 17-24

The Lord told Moses "you must obey that ye may live." Deuteronomy 8:1, 11 Duty of obedience has been made inseparably connected with happiness (Genesis 17:18; Proverbs 3:2). God's people [at the time Israel] is ordered to obey and to remember God’s judgments and mercies, Deut 8:2-6. 6; nor should they ascribe their successes and prosperity to their own power, Deut 8:17, but to God, Deut 8:18. God destroys idolaters, Deut 8:1-20. Golden Calf Exodus 32:19; Achan & the accursed thing Joshua 7:19, 25. 8-5-22, The Lord God tells Joshua that he will be like Moses. Joshua 1:1-6 He must be obedient, strong and fearless. [..] Clearly these truths are that all the people of the earth might know the mighty hand of the Lord; Who alone can perform these marvelous and amazing events: He made a dry ground path for the Israelites to pass over the Jordan River to the promised land like He did the Red Sea when their forefathers escaped Egypt forty years before. We are repeatedly told to fear the Lord and His mighty feats are proof of His majesty and abilities. He is due our love and reverence as we fear and serve Him. Like Jesus said ... "fear him who has power to cast us into Hell." Luke 12:5; Psalm 114:3
-- Gill's Commentary, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/gill/joshua/4.htm 8-4-22, We should call to mind and meditate upon the wisdom, power and goodness of God exerted on our behalf. In the wilderness the way He led and protected the Hebrews; in all the events that befell them. The miraculous protections, deliverances, provisions, instructions, which He gave them and the severe punishments for their disobedience. God tested them forty years: "To know what was in their heart." The Lord also tested Adam, Abraham and Job. [Genesis 3:3, 22:1; Job 33:17] It is well for us, likewise, to remember all the ways both of God’s providence and grace, by which He has hitherto led and still leads US through our 'wilderness." Is He testing us today? Deuteronomy 8:2
Benson Commentary, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/benson/deuteronomy/8.htm 8-3-22, In John 17:9 the Lord Jesus prays. The 'world' here seems to signify all mankind - for whom Christ in this place does not pray. However, in John 17:20 He does; that is, for such who, though they at present were unbelievers, yet should be brought to believe by the apostles’ ministry. Here the Savior distinguishes and prays specifically for His chosen ones; these He describes to be such as His Father (whose they were) gave Him. John 11:41-42; Mark 14:25; Luke 3:12, 6:12
-- Matthew Poole's Commentary, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/poole/john/17.htm 8-2-22, Isaiah 40:31 ... the Lord encourages all -- If we wait and have faith on the Lord; our strength shall be renewed. [Also 2 Samuel 1:23, Galatians 6:9] The eagle, in his old age, is believed to molt [shed] and renew his feathers and with them his strength. We too, the waiting, praying child of God shall mount up, run, walk and be "strong in the Lord." (Psalm 84:7; Micah 4:5; Hebrews 12:1)
-- Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/jfb/isaiah/40.htm ✝️ 8-1-22, We see in the Old Testament books of Exodus & Numbers almighty God's process of rescuing Israel's million or so souls from 400 years of Egyptian slavery. However, ONLY those who 'fully followed' and obeyed the Lord were allowed in the promised land. The children of Israel - after forty years- settled in their promised land called "Shechem" where Abraham had purchased land, Genesis 25:10; Acts 7:16. It was located in Central Israel in a beautiful fertile valley between Mount Ebal on the north and Mount Gerizim to the south west. Why do some who claim to be redeemed believers in the Lord deliberately, repeatedly & without remorse disobey God thinking they'll get away with it? Numbers 14:19, 24, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 34:1-4, 7; Joshua 1:5-9, 2:1-24, 4:24, 24:25 🙏🏻
Leviticus
*** 7-31-22, In book of Leviticus, Moses instructed people on what God requires for forgiveness of sin; theme is holiness and atonement by substitution of animals. As the Israelites were held captive as slaves in Egypt for 400 years, the concept of God had been distorted by the polytheistic, pagan Egyptians. God provides instruction and laws to guide a sinful people in their relationship with a holy God. Sin must be atoned for through the offering of proper sacrifices and the shedding of blood (Lev 8:1 thru 10:20). Other topics covered are diet, childbirth and diseases which are carefully regulated. Chapter 16:1 describes the Day of Atonement when an annual sacrifice is made. Personal, moral and social living dictates are proclaimed in contrast to the then current practices of the heathen. Lev 17:1, 22:33 Clearly we understand and appreciate that the Lord Jesus is our substitute for the forgiveness of OUR sin. Hebrews 9:22; 2 Corinthians 5:21 -- https://www.gotquestions.org/Book-of-Leviticus.html 7-30-22, God's instruction for the construction of His tabernacle in the wilderness required the free will offerings of precious metals, jewels, fabrics and other materials. However, there came a time when they had to be restrained. The readiness and zeal with which these builders set about their work, the exactness with which they performed it and the faithfulness with which they objected to receive more contributions than needed is a good example for us today. This was a visible testimony of the love of God to the children of Israel who also showed their love of God by their giving back to Him their Savior. He was their protector as He traveled with them in the image of a cloud by day and fire by night. Exodus 35:20-29, 36:5-7, 40:34-38
-- Matthew Henry, biblehub.com/commentaries/mhc/exodus/36.htm 7-29-22, God's fury - after He miraculously brought the people out of slavery - they made and worshiped a golden calf. He wanted to destroy them all; but like the intercession done by Abraham in Genesis 18:16-33 Moses came to the rescue to hinder God from consuming them. When God resolves to abandon a people and the decree is gone forth, no intercession can prevent it. But God would thus express the greatness of His displeasure, after the manner of men He would put an honor upon prayer, intimating, that nothing but the intercession of Moses could save them from ruin and Moses did. Exodus 32:9-14
-- Benson Commentary, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/benson/exodus/32.htm USA Justice System Modeled After Jethro & Moses 7-28-22, The historical account of Moses with his father-in-law, Jethro, reported in the Christian Holy Bible, Old Testament, [Exodus 18:13-26] describes how Moses worked alone from dawn til dusk to judge the people’s disputes and problems. His wife, Zipporah’s father, Jethro saw that Moses needed help as he was tired and overwhelmed. Jethro told him: ‘What you are doing is not good. There is a better way. You should pick some honest, capable men who feared God, teach them the law asking them to handle the smaller more common issues and you take care of the major ones.’ Moses agreed and the 'court system' was born. In the USA House of Representatives there are 23 portrait reliefs mounted on the walls; they depict historical figures noted for their work in establishing the principles that underlie American law; they were installed when the chamber was remodeled in 1949-1950. The Hebrew prophet and lawgiver, Moses is center about the door; it was Moses who the Lord God used to transformed a wandering people into a nation; God gave him the Ten Commandments. [Exodus 20:3-17]
7-26-22, Scripture for Today: 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 - The Apostle Paul explains that God will send His strong delusion so that sin loving mankind will believe lies; because they received not the love of the truth. Unrighteousness so cloaked and covered, that men discern & understand it not, but are deceived. "In them that perish" shows who they are that are deceived: reprobates described in 2 Corinthians 2:15, 4:3 signifying damnation Matthew 18:11. Their names are not written in the book of life, Revelation 13:8; and who shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God and the smoke of their torment ascendeth forever, Revelation 14:10,11.
-- Matthew Poole Commentary, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/poole/2_thessalonians/2.htm 7-25-22, Joseph was a bragging & antagonizing brother; his brothers hated him and sold him into slavery. Well, it's a long story how Joseph became the facilitator of good by way of an Egyptian prison. In order to the making Joseph a greater blessing to his family and the world - than otherwise he could have been - God took him on a journey. Ultimately the reunion of Joseph and his apologetic brothers, Father Jacob and little brother Benjamin - may bring tears to see the forgiveness and knowledge that Joseph knew that ... although they meant it for evil ... God mean it for good. Genesis 45:7; 50:20-21
